An Off-grid retreat inspired by pilgrimage

This bachelor project is focusing on interior architecture and spatial design, working on the question of how to create an experience of disconnection during a temporary stay in a remote location.
With this the goal was then to create an off-grid retreat that could be self-sustaining, self-sufficient and environmentally friendly as much as possible. A place that people would put effort into going to and look forward to arriving at.
Taking the climate into consideration, it would be accessible during the warmer season of the year since the journey to it could take several days or weeks.
It would be a secular space where ones need for reflection, solitude or a need of community could be fulfilled. The place, the way it would function and the journey to it could introduce a different lifestyle and maybe help people change or get new habits.
